Your employees are the first line of defense in an active shooter situation. Empower them with a survivor’s mindset. Give them a plan for responding to unimaginable threats. Teach them life-saving skills. While this training course is designed as an active shooter training program, the valuable knowledge inside can be used in any number of everyday situations.
Lessons
Pre-Incident Awareness and Threat Recognition
Being situationally aware gives you the opportunity to positively respond to an emergency situation. When you are aware of your surroundings, when you pay attention to the behaviors of those around you, and when you take action, you have a better chance of saving yourself and/or helping those around you.
Responding to a Threat
Your best chance of survival is to flee. What if that is not an option? In this course, we will review how to escape, barricade, use numbers, and, if necessary, fight, if you are in an active shooter situation. Having a plan drastically increases your chance of survival.
Life-Saving Medical Training
Simple, basic medical training, by average citizens, can mean the difference between life and death. In this program, we review some life-saving medical treatments that you can apply to someone else or to yourself. While this training is provided in the context of an active shooter incident, it is far more likely you would use this training to help an accident victim. What you do in the first few minutes will mean the difference between life and death.
Interaction with First Responders and the Aftermath
Each emergency responder has a different role when they arrive on an active shooter scene. Here we learn how to effectively interact with all different emergency responders. We also discuss the aftermath and the impact an event like this will have on your establishment for months or years to come.
